2. We've come a long way since the days of Harry Truman.

And not in a good direction. Remember, poor Harry Truman, not used to the big time, was outraged when his daughter did not get the good attention for her singing that he thought she deserved. This is embarrassingly normal for any parent. However, our current president somehow has the power to do actual harm to people who fail to fawn over his offspring sufficiently to satisfy his parental delusions.
