50. personally, I want to thank McConnell

I was thinking earlier this week about outrage fatigue, and wondering how we'd be able to sustain and maintain in the long struggle ahead.

And then McConnell gave us a gift: "Nevertheless, she persisted."

Candidates and companies spend millions on research to come up with branding like that. Mitch McConnell gave Elizabeth Edwards the best campaign slogan I can imagine, and he did it for free. Just out of the kindness of his cold, boll weevil-infested heart.

And it's not just a slogan for her, but for women everywhere. And, if I may say, for all of us. I'm not a woman, but when I hear those words and see the pictures/memes with those words posted and passed around, I'm moved. I'm energized. I'm humbled and know that I need to work hard and maintain my energy and never let these people have an easy moment again. Not if I can help it.

So: thank you, Mitch McConnell. But also: fuck you. Yeah, mostly that last one.
