How many Republicans have been protested at their town halls? [View all]
I think it is important to keep track of this type of information.
It indicates which Republicans may be vulnerable in the next election. Democrats should make sure there is an opponent for each of these "protested" Congressmen.
Even though they may have won their last election handily, such as Jason Chaffetz, that doesn't mean they cannot be defeated the next time around. People are not happy with Chaffetz. Democrats have to model their campaigns around the messages of the protesters. Every campaign may be different? Right off the top of my head, the slogan to use against him is that he refused to "do his job". That is where he should be attacked.
Another Congressperson that had protesters at their town hall was Diane Black of Tennessee. People were screaming at her about the ACA. This could be another opportunity for Democrats to pick up a seat. However, they will need a message that fits the protesters' concerns. Each campaign will be different.
But, this may be a good place for Democrats to start with a strategy?
