Designed, Engineered, and Assembled in the USA:
From Ohio to you, all Maytag full-size washers and dryers are designed, engineered and assembled in the U.S.A.
Our 23 year old Kenmore (built by whirlpool) got through 3 kids, a grand kid, and us with no major repair ever.
Maytag was bought by Whirlpool over 10 years ago. AFTER Maytag left the USA for Mexico. Whirlpool brought those jobs back to the USA: http://inthesetimes.com/article/1790/maytag_moves_to_mexico & http://aoafa.org/whirlpool-expands-in-ohio-and-brings-jobs-home/

We are buying the top rated (86 points) Maytag metallic slate MHW5500FC: https://www.maytag.com/-[MHW5500FW]-5722603/MHW5500FW/
Consumer reports has the top 86 rating on three Maytag models. A Samsung is next at 84, but almost twice the price of our model.
