Nazi Holocaust and the Deaf and disabled [View all]

I am a life long Deaf. I have been around DU long enough to know that Trump and DeVos erasure of the disabled website is no surprise. Yes I'm angry about this and I realize that many DUers are, too. For this I thank you all. Now I want to share this BBC documentary on youtube. It's 43 minutes long so you are aware of the time commitment to watch.

From Youtube....The Deaf Holocaust: Deaf People and Nazi Germany is a part of the season of programmes commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Holocaust and the liberation of Auschwitz, Clive Mason visits the killing centre of Hadamar to investigate the development and impact of the Nazi policy of enforced sterilisation and the murder of deaf and disabled people, which took place in Germany between 1933 and 1945. Members of the German deaf community, who are still living with the legacy of this brutal Nazi policy, tell their moving stories in English narration & Sign language.

Please kick and rec this and share on Facebook.
