I've used it for years, in it's plain form, just DXM without any other ingredients and I can anecdotally say that it works for me and my family for suppressing coughs.
I was baffled when I read the study saying it wasn't effective.
People have been taking it for decades, and I would think that if it wasn't working, people would have stopped buying it a long time ago.

Yeah, ID has been a standard requirement. The under 18 part is the prescription requirement.

The new prescription requirement, if I read it right, only applies to those under 18.
