my DVR and rolled it back to make sure I heard it right when I heard this sentence:

"I am tendering my resignation, honored to have served our nation and the American people in such a distinguished way. "

His self praise was just weird. That sentence should read:

"I am tendering my resignation, I am ashamed to have dishonored our nation and the American people in such a way."
