6. About the only thing that is probably true is the first paragraph

yeah, I would think that as part of the transition, he would have reached out to friendly counterparts (Russia a friendly counterpart?) to introduce himself and get a feel for their thoughts. I highly doubt the topic of upcoming sanctions about to be imposed by the sitting President should have been on that agenda.

As he said, he spent 30 years in the military and had a tenure as DIA and now all of a sudden he gets caught up in "fast pace of events"? And at the same time, he didn't recollect the topics and details of this conversation?

For me, personally, General Flynn fell on his sword to protect his superiors. Plain and simple. And, personally, Vice President Pence is not at the top of the command structure.
