Putin wants one thing out of Trump - to have the sanctions removed. Trump has got himself in such a bind with the the love affair he and his closest staff members have with Putin and the Russians it will now be very difficult for him remove the sanctions without bring more suspicion on himself than the Republicans in Congress handle with out investigating the shit out of him.

We have already seen this in the address that Nikki Haley gave on her first day in the UN. She said that sanctions will not be removed until Russia leaves the Crimea. That is a pledge that will be hard to back away from.

Putin is used to having everything under his control in Russia. He must view the clown show in Washington which is likely going to keep him from achieving his main objective with disdain and anger. He sees his investment going down the drain.
