In reply to the discussion: I know there are many on this board that belong to the NRA [View all]sarisataka
(22,696 posts)and am willing to admit to membership.
I do disagree with much of their political stance and let them know that every time the NRA-ILA asks for money. My counselor (Instructor Trainer) has the same opinion and voices it at every session. Much of the NRA membership has much more moderate views, but has been too apathetic to vote out the current leadership.
I also participate on several gun boards of moderate to right leanings. The majority, while not big Obama fans, agree he has done nothing to promote gun control and do not buy into the NRA scaremongering either. Word seems to be spreading that when it comes to guns, 'better the devil you know' than taking a chance on "I'm a hunter too" Romney.
I believe the NRA is talking in the wind and most gun owners do not consider this election a crisis for the 2A
