I believe I read where he got it thru so he could pay down the debt for WW 2.. Interesting with this "horrendous" tax on the rich it was one of the most prosperous for times for the American people. If the shit storm in Washington want's to make America Great Again, they don't have to re invent the wheel, just do what they did in the '50's...
