(42,862 posts)It's just a big game of cross-talk and over-talk and shouting down in which the LOUDEST (not necessarily the smartest) ends up being the "winner" in the eyes of the unsophisticated audience.
I've totally given up on all US-based television news sources (except occasionally PBS NewsHour)
I enjoy watching BBC World News (on PBS) and SkyNews and ReutersTV (streaming Roku).
When watching US-based news, it's pretty amazing to realize how LITTLE coverage or importance is given to the rest of the events happening around the world.
When watching non-US news programmes ... the reporting is detailed and not "dumbed-down". It's as though the reporter (producers) are already expecting to be talking to an audience with an attention span longer than a three year old, and basic intelligence that exceeds a 12 year old.
It's also interesting to get an unfiltered view of what the rest of the world actually thinks of Trump and our nation in general. It's a bit refreshing to hear honest reporting and frank editorials that don't feel as though they must oblige the easily offended jingoists by carefully tempering their words to the point where they lose all meaning.
Or... instead of going on and on, I could have just said US tv/cable news SUCKS compared to what you can get outside the US.
