5. Filibustering any nomination other than Garland

but since Garland has removed himself from consideration and Trump probably isn't going to enrage his base by choosing a more "moderate" nominee and the Republicans would never approve anybody to the left of Scalia anyway, I say Dems should filibuster until the Republicans take it away- or until the next Democratic President takes office. I don't particularly like advocating for this and it isn't honest-to-goodness responsible governance but I simply can't abide by the slap in the face that Republicans gave to President Obama over his privilege to select a replacement for Scalia- with plenty of time remaining for the Republicans to have considered his nominee.

BTW, since the "McConnell Rule" is now a real thing, shouldn't we wait anyway, given that President Trump has already started his 2020 re-election bid?
