In reply to the discussion: A Trump Rebellion Is Reported to be Brewing Among The Intelligence Community [View all]truebluegreen
(9,033 posts)40. Um, no, I don't, necessarily.
I do find it a little odd that a few years ago they were in disrepute on this board for "lying us into a war"...and now they're our besties? Because they don't care for the loose cannon that is Trump?
I think they are useful, up to a point...but they get a lot of things wrong (most famously they didn't see the collapse of the USSR coming--which at the time was their primary mission)(oops), they have a certain mindset (essentially paranoid); they are secretive as part of the job description, a big stock in their trade is misdirection (i.e. lying) and as an unelected body I don't want them setting policy.
That not quite the same as saying "I hate the IC, especially the CIA." Is it.

Nope, I've never asked myself anything. I'm uncritical and ill-informed, as you assume. (n/t)

Just going to make a vague and empty attempt to smear the IC as untruthful w/o any examples? (n/t)

Hyperbole, ad nauseam and a complete lack of examples doesn't support your argument (n/t)

I'm quite serious. Same question: What specific IC disclosures have been untrue? (n/t)

I can't help but notice, however, that you didn't answer the question. What untruths, exactly? (n/t)

Has anyone considered Vice President Pence was at least partially behind the leak that canned Flynn?
