(103,265 posts)people on Mexico in border cities. If they don't have family they are pretty much SOL. There was an interview with someone who was "dumped" by ICE years ago and that's what happened to her. She was driving with her young daughter in the car and was stopped. She was separated from her daughter and transported to the border. At least someone was able to meet her in the border town and get her a motel room and help her out.
I can only imagine that it is worse now.
When I lived in San Diego, we always saw buses with deportees heading for the border. Border Patrol checkpoints at San Onofre and Escondido were just part of the trip when traveling north. I don't recall seeing one on I-15 when I was out there a couple years ago.... looks like the freeway got too big for that. I wonder when they got rid of the one at San Onofre.
