(3,900 posts)Remember that Brown took Mandel to the woodshed 6 years ago, and Mandel has done absolutely ZILCH to repair his image or to show voters that he's a better candidate now (doing TV commercials with Urban Meyer where you look wooden and frozen in fear ain't gonna do it, Joshy). Add to that the fact that there will be unprecedented anti-Republican sentiment all over the country in 2018 (and the fact that Sherrod Brown is immensely popular here in Ohio), and you're looking at another blowout.
I understand the concern about having a Republican Governor replace him with another horror show like Portman (and let's face it, with the Ohio Democratic Party being basically a dumpster fire right now, that seems likely), but I don't think Sherrod Brown has any interest in being on a Presidential ticket in any capacity.
