..to think that a republican with enough principles to stand up to Trump will come forward in time to be portrayed by Bradley Whitford...

Maybe if the theoretical republican in question is old enough not to be concerned about running for reelection or going on the post-retirement speechifying/CPAC/Fox News circuit
