By way of comparison, Mao Zedong had 50 million followers, held power for 31 years, was taught as an ideal man in Chinese classrooms for decades, had giant banners hanging from buildings everywhere and is still the only Chinese political figure that appears on the currency - every denomination.

If Trump had his way, that's where we would end up. But I don't think you can call his cult "the most successful in history".
