4. We have to look at this from the perspective that facts don't matter

because, they don't to 45s true believers who congressional republicans also know to be their base. They will not be convinced by evidence or the lack of it especially when it comes from the enemy. If the press and political opposition are spreading only fake news, then the true believers see the WH as the sole arbiter of truth. It is becoming conventional wisdom among supporters.

Ironically, 45 is perceived as honest because aside from being crude and offensive, "telling it like it is" also means his lying is perceived as honest because it is shamelessly on display.

Post truth- post fact. I have no idea how we are going to be able to combat this but it's not with concrete facts or evidence. It's scary that it's possible and scarrier to consider where it might take us. I'm hoping there is someone smart enough to figure it out. It's not as if this strategy is brand new.
