59. They think people are poor because they are lazy, not because they were born poor

Mar 2017

are surrounded by poverty, and have diminished expectations from the day they are born.

They have no clue that their own rotten lives are supported on the backs of millions of invisible workers kept in poverty by low wages through no fault of their own. Poor people work a hell of a lot harder than most Republicans ever thought possible.

That poor folks don't make enough for a nutritious diet and safe housing, let alone saving money for health care and retirement, really doesn't seem to penetrate the cement filling their thick skulls. They seem to think there are money trees to be picked or secret trust funds out there somewhere but poor folks are too damned shiftless to try to access either.

It's why I want to force every single Republican out there to sit down and write up a budget using the Sunday paper, meaning rent, food, utilities, and transportation on a minimum wage paycheck.

It'll never happen, of course, it's just too easy to go on hating everybody their AM radios say it's OK to hate, poor folks topping the list.
