My Dad, sort of a so called Reagan democrat, bought into the meme that a few welfare queens were bankrupting us. He even bought the .45 of "Welfare Cadillac" by a Canadian guy. They passed all their records to me as the older daughter and I play it for a laugh now and then.

It is all absurd of course, the chief budget culprits are Defense spending and low tax or no tax on rich people and companies.
