(67 posts)I admit that I keep a low profile. More than a decade ago, I learned that if I did anything -- anything at all -- to promote my writings, people will accuse me of being some kind of glory-hound (or of being "in it for the money" even though there is no money to be had). So I intentionally do none of the things writers normally do to promote themselves. It's an experiment to see if the work will survive on its own merits. So far it has, and a number of people are familiar with it, even if you are not.
The point is that an argument stands or falls on its own merits. I've shown my work; nothing is hidden. Ad hominem is your only counterargument.
But if you would rather place your trust in the hirelings of Rupert Murdoch and Jared Kushner than in someone who, since 2004, has established a pro-liberal record, that's your privilege.
