6. To be white is to give smallpox-infected blankets to indigenous peoples.

-To be white is to hold others in bondage.
-To be white is to suck the wealth and resources out of emerging nations.
-To be white is to come and go without being hassled (or nowadays, killed) by law enforcement.

I say these things as a white male, the most privileged of all humans. I carry a healthy shame about having had better breaks than most. I declare myself to be in no way superior to anyone else on the planet, except rabid Republicans, whose vision is exclusive, bigoted and regressive.
