(8,617 posts)Terry's candidacy should not be judged based on his sleazy personal but based on his performance as Governor of VA, his last elected position. If a Democrat wins the 2017 VA Governors Race whether it is Northam or Perriello and either of them defeats GOP nominee Ed Gillespie by a 5 percent margin or greater, then Terry's Presidential candidacy will gain merit. If Progressives want to defeat Terry in the Democratic primary, we need to unite behind one candidate ie Elizabeth Warren, multiple progressive field will lead to Terry's winning the Democratic primary. If Terry wins the Democratic primary, he would need to appoint CA US Senator Kamala Harris as his VP runningmate, Harris is a strong progressive- she will help Terry appeal to the Obama wing of the Democratic party, she is a female, she would help Terry do well with female voters. Harris would increase voter turnout in the African American community allowing Terry to win all of the Clinton 2016 states plus MI,PA, and WI. Lastly I would like to see Trump lose re-election to an unpopular Democratic challenger like Terry, It will mean that Trump was a lousy President.
