In reply to the discussion: This is great. Thank you Mr. President. Good luck in November. Where are the jobs? [View all]glowing
(12,233 posts)a job's package for a long while now, don't you? They refuse to even consider a vote on a job's package. If the economy sucks, they believe they can win the White House back... They refuse to put the country above politics. Since Pres. Obama won in 2008, the Republicans have been doing everything in their power to stop the President from succeeding... In spite of their evil ways, the economy is sluggishly improving. Despite all the TeaBagging governors and state politicians laying off massive amounts of local and state workers because of budget shortfalls, the private sector seems to be improving in some areas.
With the health care initiative in place, states are going to get some extra help with medicaid funding and will have to hire people to implement the state's plans to comply with the ACA. If we can get a Democratic Congress and Senate again in 2012, we could get a jobs package passed and start building up our infrastructure, investing in technology (green especially), give the younger generation a chance of leaving college without huge sums of loans strapped to their backs, hopefully a progressive tax structure with the richest Americans paying more of their millions and billions back into the system to shore up the debts incurred by the Bush admin reign of terror, have a chance to pass another stimulus bill that would help the state governments fill in their budget shortfalls so that we don't have to lose more teachers, firemen, and police to lay offs. The last stimulus is done spending, and in order to get it passed, 1/2 of the stimulus ended up being tax deductions which isn't the best way to stimulate anything.
If you stick around long enough, you may learn a few things. Then you won't sound like a Fox News talking point.
