(752 posts)because you haven't seen convincing evidence. There is a lot of conflicting opinion and a variety of interpretations of studies, which is probably why we regularly have arguments on DU about cursive.
The fastest handwriting appears to be a mixed style (good for processing aurally delivered lectures) according to this anti-cursive article:
