29. A Facebook acquaintance is pretty cheerful about it

He says us liberals shouldn't worry overmuch about things like eliminating funds for Meals on Wheels because it "probably" won't actually happen. (This chap is the relative of a friend, and seems to have cornered the family market on cruelty.) I responded directly to him that his party's position was immoral and in response to another friend in the thread observed that the budget proposes a $54 billion increase in the defense budget while literally starving vulnerable citizens by eliminating Meals on Wheels. I rounded off with my opinion that one couldn't possibly claim to follow Christ while endorsing this Republican budget.

I expect he'll have something pithy to say to that. I just hope I don't piss off my friend, though I'm pretty sure if I was doing something wrong by engaging with his heartlessness, she would tell me privately to lay off.
