Poor and disabled Americans will die if Republicans get their way. Trumps GOP just announced a budget to cut aid to the poor and needy by billions of dollars and take food from 10 million needy Americans.
The Republican budget, crafted by the man with no soul, Paul Ryan, takes a chainsaw to Medicaid, food stamps, Pell grants, Supplemental Security Income, and anything else that makes life more tolerable for the poor.
The proposals would remove 14 to 20 million people off the Medicaid rolls and 10 million people off food stamps. In fact, 62% of the cuts from the budget are to programs that assist the poor and moderate-income Americans.
. . .
This cruelty by the federal and state governments towards the needy will result in many Americans going to bed hungry, unable to afford a college education, and without shelter. To sum it up, Congress will fail nearly 100 million Americans for a larger defense budget.
Robert Greenstein, the founder and president of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and Washingtons leading advocate for poor and low-income Americans, said the following:

Ive been working on these issues since 1972. This is by far the gravest threat to the safety net, and to low-income people, that Ive seen in my close to half a century of working on these issues. I think theres a potential in the first seven months, by the August recess, for Congress to pass policies that do more to increase poverty and hardship and widen inequality than weve seen in half a century.

If we starve the poor to death, at least they won't be a burden on the billionaires any more.
