In reply to the discussion: poor little snowflakes. they ruined their own business by jumping on the [View all]Denzil_DC
(9,191 posts)19. Hmm.
I play a few musical instruments and run a small business. I nowadays have to travel 30 miles or so to get to a music shop because so many have gone out of business (they can't compete on price with online outlets - which it sounds like this couple now plan to become) and I know how hard it can be to keep a small business going.
But I'm finding it hard to summon much sympathy, aside from the Trump-supporting nonsense.
She says:
We opened in 2015, after the music shop my husband managed in Chicago for 12 years closed. We raised funds from the local music community to keep a world music shop open in this town and succeeded in creating Worlds of Music.
So this is the second time they've had business troubles and asked others to bail them out. And now, presumably, those lovely Chicagoans who helped them out last time won't have anything to show for the support they offered in the past.
She says:
When my husband and I attended the inauguration this past week, we knew we wanted to do more to help Mr. Trump make America great again.
So, at a time when their business was supposedly seriously struggling, it somehow seemed like a great idea to pay for fares and accommodation to visit DC for a jolly.
Based on the evidence, I'm not impressed with their judgment and sense of priorities. Maybe they should drop Mr. Trump a line and see how generous he is.

I think there is more to this story than she is conveying. A hell of a lot more.
