Just for grins, I went into the thesaurus part of Dictionary.com and put in "loathesome" - here are most of the choices

abominable
beastly
creepy
deplorable
detestable
disgsting
execrable
gross
hideous
horrible
invidious
nauseating
obnoxious
odious
offensive
repellant
repugnant
repulsive
revolting
slimy
vile

Even putting them all together doesn't quite seem to do it.
