(42,862 posts)I'll revisit themes and often reuse the same phrases, but strict "copy/paste" to sing someone's praises seems to be a very shallow exercise.
Doing something like what you describe suggests to me that someone is insincere, or maybe they just lack the conviction of their words, or it could be just plain old laziness. I'm reminded, somewhat, of the things that float around on Facebook (ie: "share if you agree" or "copy and paste for your status update if you agree".
In the past, I'd seen examples of what seemed to be duplicate "copy/paste" OP messages and duplicate "copy/paste" replies... but I automatically assumed that I was being forgetful and forgetting who-said-what-when-and-where. (I assumed it was just my old brain that couldn't keep up with the fast pace of this website, and the flurry of activity.)
Maybe it's happening more often than I realize. I'll have to pay closer attention to see if I can detect a pattern.
Everyone's looking for a shortcut these days, I suppose. Whether it's a call-to-arms to swarm a clicky-clicky poll, or to flood the inbox of political rivals with identical emails and faxes.
Anyway, thanks again for your kind words. I appreciate that.
