You sound like me.
Our house had been remodeled at some point, they added a long big room to the back, mostly windows, which faces South and West. Thank god they are Anderson double paned.
I had to buy sunshades for the windows and later added thick drapes. All summer the shades are down, the drapes are closed, makes an enormous difference in cooling.
fall thru spring the view is grand, but June until Oct. we see nothing but a solid wall of green curtains.
The only thing I wear is long lightweight cool loose clothing.
I cannot imagine how women lived here in the South in the days before A/c, not to mention Scarlett O'Hara days!

I guess it was "88 feels like 90 today," but it was in the mid-70s inside the house.
