We used to call them "gang bangs" - where you see the gaggle of reporters and the mic stands or mics set up on the lectern or some such waiting for the interviewee to step to the front. I couldn't help noticing how ill at ease he looks in the spotlight like that. Looks like he doesn't want to be there, and like he knows he's got to choose his words carefully.

The lower-level "president's men" are the ones who usually wind up going to prison. That's how it worked out during Watergate and Iran/Contra.
