6. It is so hard to figure

I have thought long and hard about possible reasons why Democrats are so quiescent about this. Here are some possibilities:

1. They believe that they will be targeted (think Grayson, McKinney, Wellstone) if they make a big deal out of this.
2. They believe they will be belittled by the corporate media as "conspiracy theorists" (no doubt they are right about that).
3. In Kerry's case, he believed he'd be called a sore loser (no doubt he was right about that)

In summary, they believe (perhaps correctly) that they need to leave this issue alone if they want to maintain their political careers.

Even John Conyers believed that there were certain issues he had to leave alone (like calling for the impeachment of Bush).

So I guess ordinary people will have to lead the way in this.
