JackpineRadicals is the classic example of how this worked. They swallowed every "fake news" story about HRC, and spent hours discussing them in detail.

The body-double story, the dementia, she's dying, she's a drug addict, she has a brain tumour, she wears a full-body brace in order to stand upright, etc., along with an endless stream of threads about the "body count", i.e. people who Hillary had murdered - it was all there, day-in/day-out.

The stories were so bizarre, and so laughingly implausible - but they just lapped it all up.

Amazingly enough, all of these stories suddenly disappeared the minute the election was called. And no one there has yet to offer an explanation as to why they no longer care about HRC's dead victims, or how she was miraculously cured of all of her fatal diseases overnight.
