In fact, even if we take the House and Senate in 2018, there's no scenario where we have enough votes to convict in the Senate without substantial repub support. And if there is substantial repub support, a deal whereby Trump resigns will get worked out and either Pence will stay on as President, or if Pence resigns, Ryan will become President.
