13. It's so hard to tell

Two things come to mind:

1) After fighting so hard and running into so many obstacles, maybe he's a little burnt out.

2) I believe an atmosphere of fear pervades the Democratic Party. The American oligarchy has so many financial resources, not to mention our national communications media, that it's hard to fight them. And they are very intimidating (see chapter 4 of my book). It seems that if you want a national political career these days you need to make some concessions to the American oligarchy and their lackeys in the Republican Party.
