12. What were the adults like?

Did you get the sense that they were completely intolerant and off their rockers? Or, has this been a recent development?

I ask because I lived here (AZ) for just over a year 20 years ago. I left and came back in '01. There seems to be a steady decline in decency in Arizona. Our local paper is horrid. The comments would be banned from most web sites.
