6. One Democrat understood it pretty well

He knew that we left Afghanistan with a high population of children, whose fathers, uncles, brothers had been killed fighting the war against the Soviet Union essentially, on our behalf was a recipe for the terrorism we have seen since. Fundamentalists who would become terrorists never let those children forget it.

Those who know and understand what we have done are not vocal enough because it's considered unamerican, and therefore dangerous politically, to take responsibility for the dumb things our government has done.
