Jeffery Lord is trying to prevent people from criticizing President Trump by comparing him to Martin Luther King Jr. Lord realizes that Dr. King is very popular. Most people do not criticize Dr. King and those that do are either not taken seriously, or criticized. Lord is pretty much so saying people cannot criticize Donald Trump because he is just like Dr. King. Lord is attempting to put forward the idea that to criticize Trump is to criticize Dr. King.
