I always suspected it was for money that he did this. What he expected it could do for his fucking brand. If you can slap the presidential seal on all your t-shirts and golf merch and hotel gift shop souvenir shit, you can jack up the prices as high as you want. Instead of maintaining your own private jet and staff and maintenance and personal security, the US taxpayer will pick up the tab for you to fly back and forth from Mar-a-Lago every weekend, because YOU get to do it on Air Force One. And they throw in a helicopter YOU don't have to pay for, either, because the US taxpayer picks up the tab for Marine One and its staff and upkeep, too.

This whole sordid episode has allowed him to completely redefine "the art of the deal." That's one humdinger of a deal he made for himself. On you and on me.
