(237 posts)Really? When I first saw it I thought it was an Onion story. Can we start a petition to stop him from going? Just because he squeaked out a minor electoral win does not mean that anyone elected him to embarrass the entire country in front of the whole world. Remember back in the good old days when the world respected us. When the opinion of the president was something sought by leaders and governments. We were an example to the world. How many remember that time in our history. Oh, that's right... that was three months ago. Oh gawd.
Maybe come October he will no longer be president. We can dream.
I have a suggestion for the unlucky souls of Great Britain that are having this pathetic display forced on them. Any noise from the crowd will be taken as worship of his greatness. Instead go quiet. Dead quiet. As he goes by turn your backs on him. Eliminate any joy he could receive from that stunt. I haven't heard if Her majesty will be forced to ride along. She would understand and not take it as any kind of slight.
