Unfortunately many Democrats have been beaten into having a pavlovian response of clapping and "supporting the president" once the bombs are dropping (something that no Republicans seem to feel compelled to do) so it wouldn't surprise me if we see some of that. Which is exactly what Trump and his cronies are hoping for and counting on. I'm convinced it was this same thinking (er...I mean brainwashing) that led to Bush getting re-elected in 2004.
