This current charade is likely intended to make it appear that there is a sliver of integrity remaining in the WH admin...

T-Rexxon makes statements like 'sanctions will remain in place until Russia does xyz w/ukraine or Crimea..'

This gives the false impression that some US action must occur in order for the sanctions to go away and that no such action will occur until terms are met..

THIS IS NOT TRUE...

As the sanctions will automatically expire on March 6, 2018....
So, by this time next year.....
the sanctions will be gone unless 45 actively makes it a point to Renew them.....

McCain and 19+ bipartisan senators have submitted a Senate Bill S94 that would lock the sanctions (plus more) into law for a 10 year period....

They know better than to push it forward too early...
as it will need extra super substantial support to ensure they can vote to override the Presidential Veto it will certainly receive...

So....., by initiating a public charade at this point... they hope to lull people into a false sense of security...,
meanwhile the months speed by with everyone focusing on the 2018 elections & taxes& healthcare & blah blah
Then whammo
Before you know it ...,
it is March 7, 2018 and the sanctions have magically expired ....
allowing
Exxon, Rosneft, & the Kremlin Klown Klan to make like leprechauns and wallow around in all their gold!

You can thank Obama for extending the sanctions to 2018 before leaving office.... as had he not, they would have expired last month.....
