8. This country is so frustrating sometimes.

It's a free society (thank goodness!), but we're under the false assumption that everybody should have their opinions treated equally regardless of the subject. It's disillusioning to see, for example, people like Ken Ham treated as a legitimate authority on evolution.

I wouldn't think to go lecture Michio Kaku on string theory, yet that's where we are as a country. Knowledge is currently given no respect. It wouldn't be out of place in the current media to see some raving talking head with a communications degree lecturing Dr. Kaku on why his entire life's work is wrong.

With knowledge treated so poorly (and lightly), why should anybody strive to obtain it? This country favors ignorance and it has to stop.
