7. Yeah, but back in the olden days (late '50s-early '60s),

they mostly had liquid centers which, we were assured, were deadly poisonous. Maybe we were told that only so we wouldn't cut up our dads' golf balls - but in any event I remember we'd unwind yards and yards of red rubber bands to finally arrive at the deadly liquid center, encased in another rubber ball. And then some brave kid would verrry carefully cut a little slit in it and we'd all back away...

Stuff isn't fun-scary any more, it seems. It can all be instantly debunked on the Internets.
