37. One fatal difference between Democratic vs Republican voters...

In recent cycles, Democrats have too often fragmented over ideological purity. Witness the shouting matches going on even now as to whether Sanders or Clinton was the better candidate for 2016. At some level we sacrifice the good for the sake of the perfect, leaving us badly weakened against the Republican campaign machine.

And Republican voters, in stark contrast, will readily rally behind their candidate no matter how flawed, and they will elevate that candidate to demigodhood once in office, all in the pursuit of raw power.

Sure, Trump's approval ratings are in the toilet, but if we held the Nov 2016 election today, I'm pretty sure that most of Trump's remorseful voters would still vote for him.
