I don't think he can distinguish a difference between "good for him" and "good for the country". I honestly think that he is that far gone. Some might call what I'm saying an apology for the worst president in the history of mankind, but that is not my intention here. Rather, I want to stress that focusing on tRump himself is the wrong direction to take because it makes absolutely no difference. He is locked behind an impenetrable barrier of mental decrepitude.
