7. I wishit was the ableism that made people uncomfortable

The effort to conjur a negative image of people with mental, illnesses "we ARE talking to a mental patient" is offensive.

No doubt, he has a narcissistic demeanor. His apparent lack of intellectual interest in his job, self absorbtion, and strange behaviors are obviously relevant to how he executes his job. But, painting mental illness as something to be feared reinforces the stereotypes and application of those beliefs toward people who have experienced it and just want to survive, or at least lead ordinary lives.


IT HURTS people I have talked to when they read this shit. If you don't care about them, please just admit it in any defense of this cruel rhetoric.
