There is too much money involved between S. Korea and China for China to allow the DPRK to do anything so stupid as to start a war. The Chinese must know they can't overtly influence Trump and they sure as hell don't want a nuclear exchange in their front yard.

The North has done this sort of thing over and over in the last decades. They rattle a saber until they get money and food.
